Refund Policy

Refund Policy

TaxDen, LLC (“TaxDen”)

This Refund Policy explains how refunds are handled for services provided by TaxDen, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, and related advisory services. By engaging our services or making a payment to TaxDen, you agree to this policy.

1. Nature of Our Services

TaxDen provides professional services that involve time, expertise, and analysis specific to your situation. Once work has begun on your file, our time and knowledge cannot be returned. For this reason, most service fees are generally non-refundable.

2. Non-Refundable Service Fees

Unless otherwise stated in writing:

  • Fees for tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll setup, consulting, and advisory services are non-refundable once we have started work on your engagement.
  • Fees for completed services are not contingent on the outcome of your tax return, the amount of your refund, or any decision made by the IRS or state agencies.
  • Payments made to the IRS or state tax authorities (for tax due, penalties, or interest) are not collected by us and therefore cannot be refunded by TaxDen.

3. Refunds for Duplicate or Erroneous Charges

We may issue a refund in the following limited situations:

  • If your card or account was accidentally charged more than once for the same service.
  • If you were billed in clear error (for example, for a service you did not authorize and that was not performed).

If you believe you have been incorrectly charged, please contact us promptly so we can review your account.

4. Service Dissatisfaction & Error Review

If you are dissatisfied with our service, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can understand and address your concerns. We may, at our sole discretion:

  • Review your file for potential errors or miscommunications.
  • Offer corrections or amendments where appropriate.
  • Provide a partial credit or fee adjustment in rare cases where we determine a significant service issue on our part.

Please note that dissatisfaction with the outcome of a tax return (for example, owing taxes instead of receiving a refund, or receiving a smaller refund than expected) is not, by itself, grounds for a refund of professional fees.

5. Amendments and Corrections to Tax Returns

  • If an amendment or correction is required due to inaccurate, incomplete, or late information provided by you, additional fees may apply, and such fees are not refundable.
  • If a correction is required due solely to our error, we will address that specific issue at no additional preparation fee for that item. This does not automatically entitle you to a refund of the original service fee.

6. Cancellations Before Work Begins

If you choose to cancel an engagement before we have started work on your file, we may, at our discretion, issue a full or partial refund of prepaid fees, less any administrative or setup costs already incurred.

Once we have begun reviewing your documents, asking follow-up questions, or performing calculations, the engagement is considered “in progress” and falls under our standard non-refundable policy.

7. No Guarantee of Tax Outcomes or Refund Amounts

While we strive to use all lawful deductions, credits, and strategies available, we do not guarantee:

  • That you will receive a tax refund.
  • The amount of any refund you may receive.
  • That the IRS or state tax authorities will accept your return as filed without adjustment, audit, or inquiry.

Refunds of professional fees are not provided solely because your tax outcome differs from what you hoped or expected.

8. Chargebacks & Disputes

If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the matter directly.

Filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer for a legitimate, properly disclosed service may be considered a breach of this policy. We reserve the right to dispute inappropriate chargebacks and provide documentation of the services rendered.

9. How to Request a Review or Refund Consideration

If you believe you qualify for a refund or billing correction under this policy, please contact us within a reasonable time frame and provide:

  • Your full name and contact information
  • Invoice number or date of service
  • A brief description of the issue or concern

We will review your request in good faith and respond as promptly as possible.

10. Changes to This Refund Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Changes will apply to future transactions and engagements after the updated policy is posted.
